How to flash/update mediatek mtk smart phones using smart phone update tool v1.4

I noticed that there is usually a problem when trying to flash/update some devices with MT6577 & MT6575 chip using the popular sp flash tool or even flashing box. You end up with different errors which is mostly related to the firmware. Most of the time the firmware works just fine and matches the devices perfectly but these tools don’t agree (grinds) 😊😊 

Now here comes smart phone update tool v1.4 which is like the older version of smart phone multiport tool has the ability to flash these devices with no errors. Ever stuck on trying to flash Tecno N7 or even DOOV D360?? Try this tool. 

Note that this tool can only be used on older devices.  

It will not work on new popular mtk chips. 

Here is how to use smart phone update tool 

Download and install mtk vcom drivers here 

Download and extract smart phone update tool v1.4 here 

Download and extract checksum_gen from here 

Download and extract the firmware of the device you want to flash or upgrade 

Launch smart phone update tool  

Click on OK when the Load DA file error message pops up 

Now click on file and select Open Download Agent file 

Select MtK_AllInOne_DA.bin 

Now click on Scatter file button then navigate to the firmware folder and select MT6XXX_Android_Scatter_emmc.txtfile 

Click Start all button 

If you see the cannot find checksum.ini error, copy and launch checksum_gen.exe file inside firmware folder. When its done, the cmd screen will disappear 

Now Click start all button again 

Turn off device and connect to PC wth USB cord 

Wait for process to complete 

Disconnect and boot phone 

Note that first boot after this process takes longer than normal 

Congrats you just flashed/upgraded your device using sp update tool
